a biophilia device

a biophilia device is a sketch for an alchemist manifesto. Functioning as an itinerant laboratory, this nomadic sculpture enables users to perform bio-materials in nature, empowering material independence. Based on the “Biophilia hypothesis” developed by Edward Wilson, It intends to connect craftsmanship with ecology, focusing on the development of an alchemist methodology that fosters eco-empathy as an artistic gesture.  It ponders on the relationship between humans and its environment by developing methods of empathic insurgence, and functioning as an agent of material change.
