Altars of alterity is a compilation of projects in the area of the visual arts and graphic design, focusing on exploring paradigms between social/individual identity & digital/palpable dimensions through intersectionality. Its main goal is to create alterity by emancipating language beyond rationality and exploring the iconographic symbolisms of common unconsciousness.
Sceneries for change is a compilation of art, architectural and set design projects, aiming towards a spatially oriented activism, where design, politics, sociology and education intersect. By introducing new means of (self) awareness through alternative programatic modes of designing space / material, these creative fields expand their meaning into socially active problem solving mindsets.
Dispositives of perception is an architectural research, exploring how ontological design, the spatialization of thought processes and the exploration of potentiating atmospheres can help reframe the area of architecture and its use in contemporary society.
This projects expand to didactical and behavioural areas, linking critique, identity and sociological purposes with space and experimenting on how to materialize new tunnels of perception.
Inês Barros has created the Hyperlinked Bodies as a way of subdividing her work through objectives: it functions as a base of guidelines to map her interdisciplinary and intersectional body of work. She divides it in 3 main subchapters, which formalize the goals she means to attain: Sceneries for change, Dispositives of Perception and Altars of Alterity.
