Drawing from the diverse local ecosystems and the equally diverse demographics, Delta consists of four devices conceived to see and listen to our surroundings. These four devices of perception are located at Mavis Road Bridge and appear as orange roadside phone booths: familiar yet sufficiently intriguing to entice the pedestrian to pause. The sensorial artworks are oriented towards four analysed and mapped ecosystems that can be approached from bridge: The Periscope overlooks the Riparian area, the Kaleidoscope builds an unexpected image of the Maple and Hickory forest, the Acoustic Mirror listens to Fletcher’s Creek and the Ear Trumpet hears the Grassland’s birds.
