Research on Biophilia Toolkits

Objects à Jeter à la Mer is a series of biodegradable objects made to be thrown at the sea. Rather than producing stable artefacts, the objects are designed to dissolve, disperse, and integrate into their surroundings, foregrounding material transformation as an ecological process. Result of a biomaterial research on how to create materials for aquatic environments, these objects, through their dissolution, help to nourish and purify maritime environments, investigating how material composition, erosion, and decomposition can operate as ecological actions rather than waste. The biomaterials include agar-based, biochar and aquatic flora composites.
