ORTUS is a 3D printed hydroponic system, conceptualized as a modular vertical farmwall, aiming to promote urban decentralized food production hubs, ensuring food security and circularity and allowing communities to grow their food in a more sustainable manner. This product has a plant-centric design: its shape was developed through the parametrization of plant growth, with a modular and scalable design, capable of varying in shape, adapting to all spaces, interior and exterior. Its manufacturing process is embracing decentralized production through 3D printing, enabling communities from all parts of the world to print Ortus with a minimal carbon footprint. Project supported by SUAVE Innovation Sum and European Union.
